A dog shaped place in my heart
I haven't really mentioned it here but two dogs have taken up residence at my home. Onyx, who we got from a friend of a friend from an accidental litter...okay, we're not so sure it was accidental any more but he is awesome and we totally lucked out. He is totally amazing, but I wanted to talk about the other dog, Sandy.
We adopted her from another family who gave her up for reasons. I'm not entirely sure what those reasons are but I look at this adorable golden doodle (75% poodle and 25% golden retriever) and my heart just melts. She is so good. She is smart and loves to just walk around the house checking on everyone.
Yes, she is a big dog and not perfect. She trash dips and isn't afraid to scratch or throw herself at closed doors, but I just can't imagine giving her up. I don't mean to harsh on the other family but my heart breaks at the idea that Sandy might feel less for having been given up. I am so happy we were there to take her in and give her the love and safe place she deserves.
