Fic Friday

 I seem to be in desperate need of a distraction from work so I am going to try and do prompts. I'm open for anyone but the pups I seem to be most attuned to lately are Joshua Nolan, Hank McCoy, Andrea Nash, Mulan, Thalia Grace and Quinlan Vos.

I should likely warn that I am having a frustrating day at work, so the prompts may not be the nicest.

I'm also taking prompts on my journal as my interview is being put off until tomorrow. Distractions are good. I'm at this weird place at work where I don't have as much to do since I'm not getting ready for the next year, its odd.

Nolan
Nolan would have told Irisa the plan except she started scowling and brooding as soon as she returned to camp and say the pots and tubes of the distillery. After four days of this, she finally exploded. "We should be hiking to the nearest town, not sitting here. You can get a drink there."

"Is that what you think this is for? Haven't you ever heard of ethanol as a fuel source?"

Hank
The backwoods of Mississippi made the search for the new mutant even more difficult for Hank and he did his best to ignore the rising temperature. Better planning needed to go into these missions and which of them went. He would kill for one of Storm's rain bursts right about now.

Andrea
Without a thought, her P226 was in her hand when she opened the door of her apartment and smelled the smoke. She laughed though, to find Raphael in nothing but an apron, BBQing in her kitchen.

Thalia
She totally wasn't stalking; she just happened to be up in the rafters with a good view. Below, William and the young woman help hands as they read one of his dime novels. She studied her closely but saw no duplicity. It still hurt to see him with another but it was right.

I'm intrigued by your new guy, Nolan, but I know next to nothing about him or his canon. So I'm going to give you a grab bag of prompts, and you can choose which characters you want to write for. :)

White sugar

It was just one little sugar packet and he swore it wasn't even full but it still kept Irisa up, non-stop for thirty hours. He obviously had a lot to learn about irathient biology.

Blow me down

The bar was deathly quiet. Irisa hide behind his legs and he stared the bigger man down until he shrank back into his seat. Nolan hissed, "You're wrong and if I ever hear say that within either my hearing or this little girl's, you'll wish a hellbug was tearing you to pieces instead of me."

On the small TV over the bar, Popeye did his little gig and yodeling laugh.

Underground

Another day and another tavern. Irisa and Nolan sang an old David Bowie song and the frustation of losing the salvage was erased.

Losing my religion

"My visions are irathient and sacred, not post traumatic stress!" Irisa hissed at him with venom. "I’m not like you. I’m an alien and you made me afraid of that." As she stormed off, he watched helpless as his life and purpose left.

I hear the train a-coming

He had this hand, he just knew it. All he had to do was milk the other players for as much cash as he could before they figured it out. Unfortunately Irisa had other plans. "We have to leave now. The train is here."

"Calm down, kid. We can catch the next one."

She scowled at him and the others at the table. "The next one is a week from now and those kings aren't going to get us to Yuma."

It was hard to say who was cursing louder, Nolan or the other players as they threw their cards down.

Heee. Online where? I have a thing against SyFy, kind of a protest. But I'll watch stuff on Netflix or youtube or hulu if it's there for free, etc. :)

Oh damn. I've been watching it on www.defiance.com which is likely just a shell for syfy. =(

BTW, I know Carly was kind of thinking of Amanda (the mayor) and even has an account...in case you start falling in love with any characters or something.
