Noticed something interesting from a Q&A Seanan did for the October Daye series yesterday.

So question was, "Can you explain how Oberon claims his children?" which lead to a long answer to get the whole picture of how bloodlines and heritage work in Seanan's Faerie.

The part that got my attention was:
Also, sometimes, kids go "I want to be yours" and are quietly dissuaded, either by him or by their mothers. Antigone would have claimed his [Oberon's] name, but her younger brothers and sisters needed her, and she couldn't have stayed with them as a Child of Oberon.

Which says to me in her heart of hearts, the Luidaeg is a child of Oberon. Which, in turn, brings some interesting light to how she deals with heroes.

Also, Nine Inch Nails' Hurt works really well as a Luidaeg song, though she might appreciate Sheryl Crow's cover more.

My sense is this is going to come up with Toby and bloodlines. I love the bloodline stuff so much and thank you for the Rollo. I put Will in as a placeholder in the EP and just have had fun with it. I'd love to poke Ashes of Honor more.

Have you heard Cash's cover? That's my favorite of Hurt, it just goes, hello, heart, rip.

I saw the Will post and I will hit him up tomorrow.

I should reread Ashes or at least gloss over it. That's the one with the goblin fruit and the Queen In The Mists right?

And yes, Johnny Cash's cover is amazing and my favorite also. Luidaeg just seems to prefer female vocals. =]

Ashes of Honor is Chelsea and Etienne and the duchess in the Silicon Valley area. Lots of teleporting incidents.

I can see that and someday if you're up for it, it would be fun to do Luidaeg and Quentin at some kind of folk festival.

Ah yes. Don't know why I get those two mixed up.

I think with the new PB Luidaeg will be more available. How about I through something up in the morning and we can see how it goes?

I'd be up for that as I want more of the Luidaeg and Quentin and don't think I'll be moving him forward in canon just yet. I'm trying to get some quieter voices going like Ivan.

And I'm still up for prompts on yesterday's DE. My sister's visiting but I finished my fact checking so I have a little more time.

I still need to fill my prompts. I will look for some for you when I do. Work and Rollo's OOM got most of my spoons.

Still amazing with how well both teams ran with it.

It was a lot of fun and perfect for Will. Thank you for doing and its inspiring me to actually do this rodeo idea I have for William.

I get that, my interview yesterday and fact checking today did the same for me. My energy is kaput.

And I want to see Rollo at a rodeo. I need to have him learn some basic English.

I like that idea. Well I'll make the rodeo actually happen.
