Feb. 6th, 2008 12:29 amDear Mucus Monsters, please get the hell out of my lungs so I can get some sleep!
In other news I had an interesting time deciding who to vote for in the Primary. I like issues that are important to both Democratic candidates and both seem to have a lot to say that I agree with.
What finally helped me decide was "Who would have the best chance of succeeding with getting things done?" Then the choice was clear for me. Pure and simple, Obama may be the new and fired up kid on the block but I just don't think he has the experience to face the 8 years of constitution shredding Bush and the, but recently, Republican controlled Congress have been up to. That is a wall I just don't think Obama is going to be able to face and still have his agenda succeed.
Hilary has already run smack into a wall like that with the Health Care Reform she and Bill tried to do. She learned you can't just go in guns blazing like you own the place the hard way. In addition, Hilary has already faced a hostile Congress with her husband. If anyone on the political field knows what a hostile political climate is, it's her. Plus as
zoe_me pointed out on our car ride home after voting, if Hilary had any dirty laundry it would have come up during the White Water witch hunt.
And yes I know that Congress is democratically controlled right now but with how Pelosi has been handing the House of Representatives and how the Senate has been voting, you would think other wise.
Anyway, talking about it last night on the way home I realized something awesome about this year's Primary...I actually had a hard time deciding between two candidates. There were actually two candidates worth the vote! No "lesser of two evils" or "who would win against Bush". No, two actually qualified, intelligent candidates.
By Jove, it almost felt like democracy!
Okay enough, I'm going to go see if the Mucus Monster is going to let me sleep now.
