Ten years ago today
Sep. 11th, 2011 10:19 amMy future wife and I were woken by a call from a friend of ours in Minnisota. "Turn on the TV" was all she said but by the tone of her voice we knew something horrible had happened. I sat stuned as I watched first one and then a second plane hit the towers. Then reports of the Pentagon came in and then the failed try on other flight where people so brave and selflish I can't even imagine faught back. Then the towers fell.
I remember being stunned and knew I'd be no use at work so I called in. More and more news came in and I wondered if this is what it felt like when news of Pearl Harbor hit the rest of the nation.
What I remember most is all the memorials that sprung up all over the world for those who died.
