Has anyone watch The Boys? I keep getting tempted to try and watch it again, but then remembering I couldn't get past the first 10 mins. Like super heroes are secretly assholes, check. I've read that one before.

Is there anything more to it then that?

I'm not going to watch it, but I follow someone on twitter who likes it and also thinks the original comic is garbage which I feel like is kind of promising for it.

I've heard that from another friend I trust. Specifically, that a lot of Ennis's homophobia is erased.

I keep being tempted due to Queen Maeve, the Wonder Woman parallel*, who seems to start out very cynical but ends up having a heart and caring about the world; i.e. my jam, butter, and bread.

*Why do all the 'superheroes are bad people' takes always seem to use the DC peeps for their strawpeople?

*It's because that's what Alan Moore did and all ~edgy~ comic book writers and film directors can think to do is remake Watchmen over and over except without any actual point.
