bjornwilde: (Julie-84)
Okay actually he never went away, just sort of moved without notice...okay he only moved without notice if you weren't reading his LJ. New website is www.nodwick.com as apparently games spy just decided to not let him login or some such. More about it here if you are curious.

I get my Julie fix!

Yesterday was a big Smiths day as far as music went and thus the title of this post. No need to worry about my mental state I promise.

Slept well last night and still feel well rested. I'm also finally feeling like I might be getting better and no longer the victim of mucus and illness. Coughing is still happening but it is no longer dry and wheezy and no longer makes my head feel like it's going to explode. I'm still finding it hard to find to get any sort of motivation going though.

Tonight is a birthday party for my niece and then this weekend is a swim meet so no slacking. Perhaps this is why I've just wanted to sit and do nothing? Who knows. Likely I just need to load up This Mortal Coil and push myself into productivity.

Okay random icon picked my iHYRDA icon which makes me imagine HYRDA agents listening to The Smiths as they try and take over the world.
bjornwilde: (Palamedes)
Music is a dangerous and wondrous thing. I was going through my playlists and came across one I had made for Palamedes from The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series and I'll be damned if the old fellow didn't wake up.

To be honest in the books he's not much of a character, spending most of his time supporting other characters. But so many hints are dropped about him that make him fascinating and I hope Mr. Scott doesn't forget him in future books once he's through with the main series this May. I mean what's not to love about a guy who's been immortal since before the time of King Arthur, is best friends with William Shakespeare (in fact in canon his story inspired Shakespeare to write Othelo), who still carries a torch for Iseult, who is the only being given free passage through any Shadow Realm (with no ill effects) and spends his time rescuing mortals who fall into or are kidnapped to said Shadow Realms? And did I mention he built a friggin' castle out of scrap cars in London (with no one noticing) and plays host to larve, lemures and Gabriel hounds? It's also been hinted at in interviews with the author that he's part of an unbroken Round Table of Knights that he has helped keep active! He even has ties to Sherwood forest (his Elder Master lives there).

And since I love to share, here are some of the songs on his play list. =)
Hollow Hills - Bauhaus
I Need A Hero - Jennifer Saunders
Veteran of the Psychic Wars - Blue Oyster Cult
No. 1 Crush - Garbage
Long Ago And Far Away - Shroud
Eloise - The Damned
