Just got back from a swim at the club with Her Ladyship. 10 laps in 30 minutes or so. I really need to remember my watch so I can time these things. And yes the watch if water resistant. I am a little loopy, though. Not sure if I swallowed too much pool, am a little turned around from spinning in place with strokes, short of breath or just ready for food. I will be keeping an eye on it though.
I think a few times I got this new stroke the kids are doing these days. See when I learned and did swimming in High School we were taught what I am calling the keel stroke, i.e. you drag your arm down the middle of your body to push yourself forward. The more modern stroke is more of a box stroke, you reach forward and pull the water to your sides, almost like the breast stroke. It does feel weird but the few time I really got it I felt like I was flying through the water.
Tomorrow I am going to go for 11 laps, if not more.
