Nov. 16th, 2014 12:04 pm All caught up with my shows, with the exception of Star Wars Rebels.
Constantine is still good but it could be so much better. I feel like all the spice that was in the source canon has been removed. One of the things I loved about the comics was how it wasn't just Heaven and Hell, but everything, much like the entirety of the Vertigo universe. The Norse gods did exist as does the Christian god and devil. That doesn't seem to be the case for the TV show. Papa Midnight as a character was great and the actor seemed to really get the character but he is being portrayed as a near devil worshiper with trappings of Voodoo rather than being a Vodun priest with no ties to devil worship (if I am remembering the comics correctly.) This following the erasure of Constantine's bisexuality and the comment about Gypsy magic being the darkest, and it's obvious the writers target is nearly the American Religious right. Or maybe they're aiming for Sleepyhollow's demographic but missing the fact that it's the characters that sell Sleepyhollow not the mysticism.
The Flash is still a fun and hopeful super hero show.
Agents of SHIELD is still great and so much better than the first season. I know fandom is worried about Trip with the promo for next week claiming a mission may claim an agents life, but if it happens and I bring Trip to Milliways, I'm calling AU. One thing I am loving about Trip is that even though the actor has commitments to another show, they aren't leaving him out of the story for long stretches of time. (I'm looking at you Once Upon A Time, take note if you bring Mulan back how well this works.)
Legend of Korra, loving it! Loved the blushing reunion of Korra and Asami. =)
Shows I am thinking of starting, since I bite the bullet and signed up for Hulu Plus:
The 100
Orphan Black
