Finding words and the joy in stories
Jul. 19th, 2020 09:08 pmI think I'm done with the outline for a short story I've committed to working on from scratch based on a three word prompt for a writing comm I'm in. I think I wrote more words in both outlining sessions than I've written in some time. It was a nice change. Now to start working on the story since I have the shape of it. Fortunately the story doesn't have to be completed by this coming Saturday, but I might get it done anyway.
I am very pleased that I took the time to look at why I wasn't getting into "Of Fire and Stars" as with the realization I am able to look beyond what was "bothering" me and can enjoy the book. Which really is a good book. I am about 2/3rds done now and I like how the author handled the budding romance between the two mains. It's not quite enemies to lovers, more reluctant allies to lovers, but I am really enjoying the small touches they use to show the growing emotions between them. There's also a nice political intrigue that is happening to move the plot/romance along and it's just an interesting world.
