That music hold and Oberon fill
Jun. 9th, 2011 10:29 am The creeping sinus thing is becoming achy pressure. Most of last night it felt stabby but this morning it's back to being achy. Could be allegies but I forgot to take a Claritin to find out. Didn't sleep very well or at least I don't feel very well rested today.
Work is being mellow thus far but I suspect I'm going to be jumped and dragged into a dark alley.
Finished Emma Bull's War of the Oaks and enjoyed it quite a lot. Then end seemed a little lack luster but then again the whole reason they were fighting was to maintain things as they were. I'd love a sequel as I love the characters. It was also fun reading it as I can tell the creators of Changeling the Dreaming took a lot fo inspiration from it. I'm sure a lot fo Something Wicked This Way Comes was a large part of the mechanics of the game as well.
Next up is Phillip Jose Farmer's To Your Scattered bodies Go, the first book in the Riverwold series. I'm pretty sure I've only ever read A Splinter in the Mind's Eye, so I'm curious to se if Farmer's reputation is earned. Plus any book with Samuel Clemens as a main character is worth a read. = )
In the car I am listening to The Museum of Thieves by Lian Tanner. Interesting book, sort of a Warehouse 13 set in a fantasy world with Gaslight era technology. Hints of Ayn Rand or Margaret Atwood without the superiority complex. I've just started it though so I don't know if it's worth a series but can see it fitting with City of Lost Children or City of Ember. Taking a break from Le Mort d'Arthur as I keep getting lost as to which knight's story I'm listening too.
