Griffin couldn't believe David had not only turned on him, but had trapped him in Chechnya in the middle of a fire fight between who knew who. Oh David had certainly learned well and had such potential; too bad he turned soft in the end. That bomb would have gotten at least four paladins. Yeah, David's girl likely wouldn't have made it but it would have been worth it right? Is one life worth four? Simple math right?
Isn't that what the Paladin's believe?
The thought is alien and catches him off guard. He works it like a sore tooth as he hides behind the broken wall to avoid the bullets. Looking up he sees the high voltage wires that are preventing his jumping and follows them to their supports. Is that what the Paladins believe? It certainly seemed like it considering many times people, friends and family died simply because he was near.
A rocket blast interrupts his thoughts and he dives for further cover. Have I become like them? Like the Paladins?
He rolls over on his back and watches the night sky as he thinks, not noticing at first. He titles his head and then he sees it. That last rocket blast had knocked down the power lines. He was free to jump.
Later dudes, he thought as he jumped for his lair. Still, his questions followed him.
