bjornwildeCanon: X-Men Fist Class (Post-canon)
Characters: Henry "Hank" McCoy & Charles Xavier
Rating: PG or G maybe.
Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
Hank is reading Shakespeare in the library, trying to forget or at least lose himself in the Bard's iambic pentameter for a little while. They've been back from Cuba for two weeks now and while the physical wounds have mostly healed, their innocence will never recover. For Hank the house is empty without Raven and he doesn't know if that will ever change.
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
He clears his throat of the tears her memory brings and returns to the book only to find the words swimming. With a sigh, he puts the book down, resisting the urge to throw it across the room. What did I do wrong? His mind yells.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Henry? The thought is as gentle and non intrusive as Charles can make it.
Sorry, Charles, Hank 'replies'. It is nothing.
I miss her dearly as well, Charles replies not taking Hank's thoughts at face value. She was...is my sister. Nothing will change that.
Hank is silent for long enough Charles grows concerned. I'll never give up on her Charles. I'll bring her back.
Charles, touched by Hank's declaration, is ever himself. Only if she wishes it Henry. Only then. She must find her way back but we will leave the door open, for her and for Erik.

Date: 2012-05-17 09:52 pm (UTC)The scene when he tries to give Raven the cure and the final scene of the movie when she leaves with Erik is heart rending. I really need to see this movie. I'm going to try this weekend as I think it's still on demand.

Date: 2012-05-17 09:56 pm (UTC)Carly plays Raven and is wonderful so I'd just recommend getting in touch with her through a PM or something else at some point. She'll be busy this weekend but we're starting to move more into canon as we have Erik. We've been threading out the first meetings in OOMland and Raven and Charles will move up in time soon.
I don't remember, have you read most of my XMFC fic as I keep writing it. Most of what I've written has been posted on my journal but not all of it and I'm still working on a few.

Eventually I can see I'll have to change his DW name to tobeproud to fit post-change canon.

Date: 2012-05-17 10:04 pm (UTC)I actually really like tobenormal for him as it suits him because that's what he's trying to do. Raven's focused much more on pride, Charles on balance, Erik on what more is possible. Its a mix in the movie, I haven't done a close watch through in a while. If you want to see the current OOM and its progress, its up on Erik's journal and you can see where we're at. Did you app him this month or are you waiting for next? As we don't have to do everything all at once, canon is good but its nice to have moments to plan.

Date: 2012-05-17 10:08 pm (UTC)My thinking with "tobeproud" will be for after his transformation to Beast and after the movie's ending when Raven tells him to be mutant and proud. My idea is that it's something he struggles with but tries to as she has a point.
