I didn't have the heart to watch NBC's Dracula but I do love how PD is like what League of Extraordinary Gentlemen should have been.
I also love that they haven't found the boss monster yet, and that the vampires are different enough from the usual (harmed or killed my metal rather than wood, etc.) that I am kept guessing. They are very good at giving enough hints to keep you wanting to know but then keeping things mysterious.
And as gross as it can be, I love how visceral things are. Like when Caliban smeared blood over Victor's face and when Victor breathed or spoke (can't remember which is was) there were sticky strings or bubbles. Sorry I can't remember which, in a hurry and I usually need a couple of watchings to get details down.
