XMFC AU idea - Dark Days

OK, so basic idea is the same time line as the movies but when JFK is assassinated, within a few days both Charles and Erik are as well. Other known mutants are hunted as well, to the point Hank tries and succeeds in making the mutant suppression serum we see in Days of Future Past and uses it on himself to hide. It's too late for many mutants, but Hank, starts saving who he can. He ends up working with Raven to save even more and get them into the mutant underground.

How the mutants are being targeted? Who knows. Maybe Morieta broke Charles original mind block. Regardless of how, Hank and Raven being a concerted effort to find out but instead discover documents suggesting Charles may still be alive. Rescue op happens, or is planned, and who knows what else.

We can even mix the gender swap into this as well. Hank can become Henrietta and I even have Naomi Watts from the Tank Girl movie as a PB. Raven's gender isn't a big a deal since she's a shape shifter.

That's interesting and actually in the way I've always done Moira, Charles didn't fully block her, only enough that she didn't know enough to answer certain questions.

The fic that I have in progress involves Charles and Erik being captured, somehow mind wiped and powers are pushed under. I can share the Google Doc with you as it could work where they're in different spaces in Bar.

And now I just had a bookshop au idea wherein Charles is running a bookstore/cafe that's a safe space for those who haven't quite found themselves or are having trouble accepting themselves.

That sounds intriguing but I don't know. Perhaps its weird of me considering how common that type of AU seems to be in the XMen fandom but I that idea doesn't draw me too much. One option could actually be doing them from X2 or something, its not exactly AU but the timelines don't fully match up.

I'd be interested in reading your fic, but the more I think on it, I don't think I want to do grim and dark this time around. Which means the Charles and Hank from the original timeline I guess?
