Dec. 27th, 2017 11:04 am And Chrstmas time off of work is over, so I am back in the office and have returned to Tiassa. Still loving it and now almost through with it, just the third story left. I had forgotten how much I loved Sticks until seeing him again in the first story. Loved the second, especially seeing Cawti and Norathar working together again. It was funny not seeing Vlad in a story but it worked well.
Now if I could just find my creative gear so I can play a bit while work is slow.

Date: 2017-12-27 11:32 pm (UTC)I also really liked the first part for seeing the cast of characters around Vlad from the beginning of the series (and hearing various tantalizing hints about Vlad and Cawti's wedding!), and that was my favorite part the first time I read the book, but on reread, part 2 ended up being my favorite -- it was a bit weird not to have Vlad there, but I really enjoyed the insight into both Cawti and Norathar and their relationship. (Daro is a character you meet in 500 Years After, btw, if you liked her/want to see more of her)

Date: 2017-12-27 11:36 pm (UTC)I do have to wonder if Vlad will ever find out that Cawti saved him one time. ; P I hope so. It's also nice to see she still has feelings for him, but is clear sighted enough to know there are differences that keep them apart.
Daro is a very curious person. I look forward to reading more on her. I'll likely dive into 500 Years After once I catch up with Star Wars reading, which will be after I finish off the Vlad books. Two to go!

Date: 2017-12-28 03:42 pm (UTC)I've only an hour left and soon will be onto Hawk!
ETA: Khaavren and Vlad meeting and exchanging witticisms is a thing of glory...if only it'd been in the normal tone for the Vlad novels so there'd been more of it.
And then I hit the epilogue when we get just that.

And Hawk is my favorite of the recent books, and I hope you have fun with it too! :)
