I've heard about Dreadnought and have been curious about it, though I haven't had any of my "trusted book rec source" people read it, so I'm curious to hear what you think.
A friend just finished the first book of the Paper Magician series and was underwhelmed, but a couple of other people mentioned that it gets better as it goes along, so maybe I won't scratch it off my list entirely...
