World building thoughts

OK newish canon, I like the world you've built, I do, but I have a few questions that lead to other questions:
1-Why are the druids using Norse runes and venerating the Aesir? I know there were druids in Gaul (which included Germanic peeps I think) before contact and conquest with Rome changed their way of life, but if you are going that route as your history of the druids, then shouldn't it be Gaulish gods they venerate? And I think the Gaulish druids used ogham; why not that instead of runes?
2-If the druids are the religious and political power for the human population, why is there the city still called "Saint" Louise? Did the Catholic church exist at some point and was strong enough to field expeditions like in our world? Do your druids have saints?
3-How long has magic and the other non-human races been around? If they've been around for recorded history as it seems, why is the political geography pretty much match up to ours? I'd think trolls would have their own countries rather than living within human controlled areas. The Fae make their own rules, so I'm good with them, but the arachne seem like they'd have their own countries as well since they are so xenophobic.
4-Why aren't there other magic practitioners aside from druid, witch, and necromancer? Why are druids and witches the only ones who are a political force?
Also, possible face to contend with Madeleine Mantock: Angely Gaviria

2-I'm less annoyed with this one that I really meant to sound. I can easily pass this off as the Druid's or whatever political power adopted the practice of sainthood from the Catholics.
3-Eh...I think I'll be not thinking too hard about this one. Magic has been strong for at least 200+ years, so it's not relevant to the character in question.
4-I'm chalking this one up to a narrow focus on the story and events. There are other practitioners, we just don't see them as Eve does.
