I forgot my running clothes today so no run at lunch. I will still walk and maybe push to the 3 miles mark and throw in a 5 minute meditation as well as it's been a while. The walk will be good too I think as running Monday and cycling yesterday has left my legs stiff.
I've started a new audiobook, The Iron Thorn by Caitlin Kittredge and it is very good so far. If you enjoy Lovecraft, steam punk and/or the Edwardian era, I advise you to check it out. The world building is nice, the characters immediately interesting and understandable yet you are left wanting more and the pace of storytelling is great, not too fast or slow. One thing I really like about the book is the author is not relying on the gimmick of the steam punk ascetic to carry the book. It's sort of like how Scorsese used 3D filming in Hugo, it's part of the foundation of the story but it is not the focus. I also enjoy that the author uses a thesaurus for her world building rather than making up words. This makes her world immediately familiar yet different. I am only two chapters in so this may all change but I doubt it.
