Audible is evil

With my long commute (a total of an hour and a half on good days), I listent to a lot of audiobooks as I love reading but never really get a chance to do it. I had been relying on the library or pirating books I came across but after reading Seanan McGuire's blog as well as other authors I've come to love, I can't justify pirating any more so have stopped. I was buying books from Apple for a time and then finally decided to just sigh up for Audiable, which charges a monthly fee but gives you credit for one book or so "free" a month. I figured this would be a good way to get my fiction fix guilt free and so far I have been.

The evil is that they keep having $5 or $10 sales and now I am up to 66 books downloaded and I swear I've only have the account six months maybe? The sales are also evil as they introduce me to new series to get addicted to.

Later in Andrea's canon from where she is now, Gunmetal Magic to be exact, she breaks down and sort of goes off the rails. I have been planning to use Iggy Pop and the Stogges' Search and Destroy as link text for when this happens, to wit, "I'm a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm. I'm the runaway son of the nuclear A-bomb."

This works pretty well except she is neither a cheetah nor male, but no need to be that picky right?

This morning I am listening to a Mash-up which uses Avril Lavigne's What the Hell? and am reminded of the lyrics, to wit, "All my life I've been good but now, I'm thinking, what the hell?"

This works much better except it's Avril Lavigne and I can't decide if Andrea would hate her bubblegum-bad-girl-ness or love her.

ETA: Oh, I forgot part of P!nk's Raise Your Glass, "Can't stop, coming in hot. I should be locked up right on the spot. It's so on right now."

A Six String On Her Back

 Her Ladyship has been signed up for a rock band summer camp, to work on her vocals and maybe pick up the guitar again. She trained for several years in classical guitar when she was younger but dropped it as they never worked with newer songs she heard on the radio. Now she gets her chance! Plus, she gets to get an electric guitar. 

My daughter is literally going to rock. \o/
