May. 1st, 2018 09:54 amI am laughing at myself. I finished the Heirs of Ash trilogy and enjoyed it; though I must say I am disappointed that the one girl in the main cast didn't really get character development past the first book. Still, she was enjoyable and had a good presence and took an active role in the plot.
This is not what I am laughing at myself about.
No, what is amusing me is that I've been tempted to try playing the other main character but was hesitant to do so as I thought I had enough cis-hetero white male characters; granted it is my unconsious bias that he is white as the only physical descriptor for him is sandy colored hair and specticles. Then I did a survey of my pups:
one alien girl (Ahsoka Tano),
one human girl who presents as Asian (Sabine Wren),
one black Asgardian woman who's bisexual (Brunnhilde/Valkyrie),
two cis white boys (Danny Rand and Hank McCoy),
one gender neutral person (Shinatose Izana),
one Apache guy (john Proudstar),
one black guy (Sam Wilson),
and one cait sidhe guy (Tybalt).
I do in theory have Selina Kyle from Gotham as well, but I haven't felt the urge to play her in some time.
Maybe I can stop worrying about having a diverse cast now huh?
