At home I tend to keep all my library books in one basket so they are easy to keep track of. Usually the basket is overflowing and I'm agitated that I am keeping someone from reading an awesome book as it sits at in my basket and I renew it online. I feel the agitation even though I wouldn't be able to renew it if someone put a hold on it.

Anyway, this past week I've actually succeeded in whittling the basket down to one book, The Godlen Torc by Julian May. Then on Wednesday I checked out another, Enchanted Glass by Diane Wynn Jones. Still the basket felt weird, empty and accusatory, until yesterday when I checked out two more books (nominally for my daughter), The Witchy Worries of Abbey Adams by Rhonda Hayter and The Seven Keys of Baladad by Paul Haven. Now I feel comforted.

Yeah, I get agitated by how many books are in my to read pile. What's really bad/silly about this is that this weekend we had bought something like 6 books at a garage sale so my to read pile wasn't lacking.

Also, go and get your hands on Odd and the Frost Giant by Neil Gaiman. Even if you have already read it, read it again. Damn fine book and I hope he returns to tell more of Odd's story.
