bjornwilde New book I must recommend, Maria V. Snyder's Storm Glass. It is a great coming into your own type book and if you love Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic books or Cinda Williams China's Seven Realms series, I am quite certain you will love this.
It is part of a series, though it's the first in its trilogy. The author seems to work in linking trilogies but what's nice is rather than an info dump to explain what happen, she spreads the info out in seeded sentences throughout several pages. I've not read the previous books and am able to follow this story perfectly well.
