Random thougths

bjornwildeIn reading that latest book in the World of Watches series, aka The Watches or Night Watch series by Sergei Lukyanenko I am noticing how much he uses Anton as a mouth piece to preach about society, the West and modern technology. I fear I find the movie Anton more interesting than the book Anton, who has to express is curmudgeon-like opinion about nearly everything.
Also, had some trouble finding somethign to watch tonight. Netflix streaming didn't seem to have anything I wanted but I finally stumbled across Dredd which I started to watch before deciding it wasn't something I was in the mood for. Ended up finding episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and am finally happy; though the circular tropes and plot lines are vaguely annoying. I mean the first episode has Yoda bailing out of a transport much like R2-D2 and C3PO did in A New Hope.
And yes I realize that I am complaining about my fiction watching, and sharing it, whilst complaining about an author uses a fictional character to do the same. (wry grin)
