I picked up volumes one and two of the Essential Spider-Woman and I've noticed a few things:

1. Art seems to focus on the hips and thighs much like art nowadays focuses on the breasts and butt.
2. The art is very dynamic and topsyturvey. I almost expect the characters to fall out of the panels.
3. Spider-Woman's first exposure to super heroes was Ben Grimm.
4. Her first couple of adventures involved HYDRA but her third went straight to Marvel's mystical realm.
5. The exposition so far isn't too painful but it is so much more than modern comics include.

So far I haven't gotten to her actual first series, I've just made through her first appearances in Marvel Presents and Marvel Two-In-One, so this may change.
