 Things I will never understand with shipping; how often characters who are vicious, bullying, or mean to each other are shipped together. I mean character A tries to kill character B and now a lot of people are shipping them? Just, no. Not for me.

I think a lot of that can come from actors who have great chemistry even if their characters are against each other. Since that's a type of sexual tension, the only times I've ever thought well maybe was due to actor's chemistry. But there's a point where it doesn't work, when its banter and there's an element of respect like Arthur and Eames in Inception or Derek and Stiles in Teen Wolf, I buy it. Its not what I look for and sometimes I find it bizarre the connections but I can sort of see how it happens. The thing that sucks is fandom can take it to weird places.

I think respect is really what it comes down to for me. Also if both characters really see the other person as they are.

For example, Peter and Flash in Amazing Spider-Man I could get cause Flash saw Peter's feelings and respected them at the end of the movie.

Hank and Alex I can sort see as well since Alex turned from harassing Hank once Hank impressed him enough. In full disclosure though, I see Alex more with Sean or Darwin since Hank is so firmly with Raven in my head.

But the most recent example of this weird (to me) shipping is from RWBY and revolves around Yang and this other character who bet her in a fight, was very mocking in her body language while she did it, and then almost killed Yang in cold blood once Yang was KO'd.

Ultimately, I'm fine with people enjoying what they enjoy. Just don't try and force it on me. This is why I wrote this here rather then on Tumblr. I wouldn't have said anything but it kept bugging me, so I needed to say it in a safe place. = ]

I haven't seen Amazing Spider-Man but the XMFC sort of makes sense. I agree with you though that if I'm going to slash Alex, its with Sean or Darwin as the actors had a lot more chemistry.

Huh, weird, and yeah, fandom can sometimes go, no, you must love this. I find that tiring and stops me from reblogging some X-Men stuff at times. I'm all for pretty gifs and seeing things but at times, its tiring.
