Wait, where are you seeing this? I'm checking my Previews order list just now (sent by my Glasgow comic shop, so it's £3.33 instead of $4.99, but still) and there are only a couple at that price. Just an annual and a couple double-sized specials. Is it an announcement for the future or something?
I've been doing all my shopping on Comixology and so far I am seeing a lot of titles being $4.99, Agents of SHIELD, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, Storm. Just about every title I want to support is the more expensive ones. I'm thinking f giving up anything that doesn't include Spider-Woman and just do Marvel Unlimited for $10 a month. Comics will be older but more frugal that way.
Whoa, that's weird. I just went to check, and those titles are all just £2.99 (usually equivalent to $3.99 tier, though it's $4.50 by the exchange rate) on the UK store, but yep, $4.99 on US. What's up with that?
Anyway, regardless of regional discrepancies... It looks like this most recent reboot was just an excuse to up their prices in general. $4 for all the comics that used to be $3, $5 for all the slightly-bigger ones that used to be $4.
Yeah, I say go for Unlimited. Personally, I've switched to trades already anyway (except for F4 because, well, duh, and Ms Marvel because I want to support it with pre-orders).
