In other news, apartment is in good shape for the management visit tomorrow. We have ceramic tile in the living room and kitchen, and we've recently noticed one right in front of a bedroom door is loose. Since I saw the apartment manager on Saturday, I mentioned it cause I didn't want it to get broken and then we have to pay for all new tile. Perfectly logical thing to have done but in ended up spiraling into stress land as the Wife wasn't ready to commit so much time to cleaning the house. Really, it was much more clutter than dirt but still. Anyway, all is good now.
In other other news, I recently started wondering why all fantasy/urban fantasies that feature someone from our world going to the Other World or Faerie have the OW/Faerie being so vivid glorious past. I mean, in all the old stories, Faerie always seems to be to be an idealized present or future compared to the travelers time but nowadays it's usually shown as this nostalgic ideal. I think the only series that didn't do this and had the OW be similar or futuristic in some sense was the Hollows series where the use of magic in the Everafter gave it a strong contemporary or near future sort of feel when compared to the manifest reality of the books.
