Recently rejoined scans_daily and while I am mostly amused, I am reminded why I quite in the first place. I am self aware enough now though to know to avoid certain posts.
Some comics I just have to wonder why anyone would make them, let alone read them. I'm looking at you Crossed.
Marvel's upcoming reorg really seems like the House of Ideas asked themselves, "How can we mash up all the cross-overs ever?" and Secret Wars/Battleworld is what we're getting. I like some of the What If? type worlds we're getting, i.e. the new content, but I'm not so thrilled about the revisiting of old stories. As much as House of M and Civil War were good (and problematic), I don't have any need or desire to reread them or see where the story might have gone. I've seen many authors talk about how rewriting books that they had written years ago is a bad idea and I can't help thinking this will prove a fine example, not matter how much comics tend to go in cycles.
Mostly enjoying my Gotham influenced DC comics though I am frowning hard at the writer of Batwoman. Just own that it was abusive and don't victim blame. She was a villain after all.
