Feb. 3rd, 2016 12:16 pm I'm beginning to think I need to take a break from OOMs. I've got a few that keep glaring at me, intimidating me, and it's making me not want to play. I think I'm just going to EP the pups, briefly mention or allude to things that have happened, and move on.
My time is precious and I don't need to spend it wishing to play and feeling guilty that I'm not writing canon bits when I clearly don't wish to.

Date: 2016-02-03 08:29 pm (UTC)A lot of times, unless there's something specific I want to do with an OOM, I just have the action and events come up in conversation or get mentioned in the EP. It lets me concentrate on the fun cowriting bits and less on the plot-set-up bits.
Because IRL people don't get to see my backstory, either. So.

Date: 2016-02-03 11:42 pm (UTC)I've already noticed a big difference!
I think I've also been worried about writing myself into a corner that canon would make incorrect (in Sabine's case) or dreading the emotional impact of the disaster Izana is currently helping clean up.
In Izana's case, having it come out in conversation seems much more natural and honest, as well as serving to allow Izana to process things. Much better. = ]
