Just came back from seeing Suicide Squad and I liked it. It does suffer from horrible editing during the first half of the movie. You can tell where they cut time to make a shorter film. Either that or they just felt like doing exposition on fast forward.

More behind the cut in case it's spoilery.

Not sold on the gentrified, gang banger Joker. It was an interesting spin on the character, and Leto was convincing but I am not convinced that was the Joker he was playing. ymmv.

Slipknot was a waste and was only used as a prop. I say waste as I understand the actor is really good and he ended up with few lines and just randomly being thrown into the team. I just realized Slipknot fails De Connick's sexy lamp test; i.e. his character purpose in the story could've been accomplished with a sexy lamp.

Didn't find Boomerang that amusing. Katana was dry as well.

This really was Harley and Deadshot's flick, with Waller making a strong foundation. Viola was amazing as Waller.

I wanted to know more about Deadshot and wish we had more of him, tbh.

The Joker and Harley's relationship didn't make my skin crawl, oddly enough. I would've loved for her to admit it was not a healthy one though. Or maybe not a good one for her. I doubt she could recognize healthy.

And I have to say it...Escape From New York called, they want their plot back.

Still, I had a good time and enjoyed the film.

Seriously. I wasn't thrilled with this Joker, but the handful of times I actually could deal with him were pretty much all Harley-Joker times. I got the actual impression that he had feelings for her other than 'highly possessive' and 'could drop her at a second's notice and forget she existed if he felt like it'. I'm not saying they were good or healthy ones, but it felt like there was actually something there.

And while it was Harley and Deadshot's movie, I am seriously impressed by, and very fond of, this version of El Diablo.
