Well I got up a little late and had to run around to get me bum to Duane's on time. I race out the door with a hasteyly made Slimfast in my tummie, a bananna and two power bars. I see by the clock I have something like 13 or fifteen minutes. I panic and ride as fast as my groggy tired self can and I managed to make it in time to catch the train.

Get to Duane's and theya re out at Petco trying to get their new kitty so I have time to strech before the ride. Ah enough silly details, on to the ride....

The route, which I think Duane kept changing to see how I was doing, was from his house to Alameda De Las Plugas (I think I spelled that right) to Edgewood to 280 to whatever road it is that runs along the Plugas Water Temple to Woodside and back to his house. Only 17 miles but it took us about 3 hours because of me. Still I am proud cause A) I think Duane said I wasn't planning on going this far and B) because I did it! Here's why...The ride was mostly "rolling hills" as Duane calls them. "Death Marchs" is my what I would call them. They incline might be gentle, only about 10 or maybe 15 degree angles, but the length of them was NOT. I know Mr AIDSRide will Laugh at this. They were more like speed bumps to him.

The thing I am most proud of is the giant hill I managed. I wouldn't say Beat or defeated cause it sure made me hurt and I had to stop about 8 times. It was also in about the first third of the ride. I can't decide if this was merciful of Duane or not. Anyway, the hill was steep, I'd guess about a 45 to 50 degree angle and I would guess atleast a 1/4 miles long. ACK! But I made it! I don't think I would have had the courage to face that 8 months or even 6 months ago. And yes it is courage cause I don't think I am in that much better shape if at all.

It was also cool seeing Zero yesterday. I decided to stick around after the ride to see a couple of my old gaming friends and Zero was about the only one I got to see but I am glad I did. Turns out his favorite period of History is the 19th century. Watch out folks interested in the Changeling by Gaslight, I've got a good brain to pick.

I am also doing well with my diet! I keep eating about 1000 caliories less than I should be for the amount to loos a pound a week at my present weight. In fact I am so used to this that yesterday when I was scarfing all the power bars and all I was worried I had gone to far but told myself that I had one hell of a good work out. I got home and totaled and I was just above the calorie count to loss a pound a week for my present weight. So far I think I have lost about 3-4 pounds if not more. I can definately see the difference in my face.
