Stay in Place, third week?

bjornwildeI think this is the third week at least. Local government has declared things to continue until May 03. We are still socked well, though I have been unable to find bread flour anywhere, nor gluten to add to all purpose flour to make it bread. Still we are having good successes with the bread. At the very least, the teen is into the bread making and it is keeping her busy.
Work is slow at the moment. Like dead slow, though there have been promises of impending work. I think each artist is watching the inbox in our job tracking software like a cat ready to pounce.
In other work news, I got a promotion which came with a pretty nice raise on top of my annual merit increase. :)
Writing last month went well. I wrote very day except two. The All Skate in Milliways helped a lot. I did end up not working on any original works. Most of it was RPG threading and journaling, but it was writing.
I did end up starting a new original work towards the end of the month. It stemmed from an idea I had while watching Clone Wars about a group that salvages things from the left-overs of past battles but of course I couldn't do things the easy way and just make it sci-fi. No, I decided to put a fantasy spin on it and try and make it a Spelljammer/Planescape bastard hybrid, which is an interesting challenge. How to write a mircogravity EVA using fantasy/D&D terms and magic. I think i am mostly succeeding, but there is the danger of the verbage being awkward. I am also worried there is no real story there beyond the cool setting. I'm going to keep poking it until I find out though.
