I'm trying to get back to actual reading rather than audiobooks since I am home and not driving my commute. On the plus side I am noticing how much easier it is to get into a book when I am the one who is imagining how the characters talk. It is very obvious how much the narrator influences the tone of a book to me now. On the con side, I am also noticing how much my skill at reading needs dusting off.

I also read some comics today as I have been missing my weekly read and Marvel hasn't been publishing, not even on the digital side.

I read the first volume of Justice League Odyssey, which I enjoyed. Still the story didn't grab me enough that I want to bother with the second volume. I can't put my finger on why, sorry.

Then I read Ame-Comi Girls, which is another one of those DC Elseworlds, this one based on the Anime styled figures of several of DCs big characters. I did not enjoy this one very much. Something about the writing was very much written for the male gaze, if that makes sense. It just wasn't as good as the Bombshells series, which I had been hoping for. Oh well.

Lastly, I read Far Sector, which is NK Jemisin writing a Green Lantern story. I am all on board for this one and will be buying any and all issues. Set is a murder in a highly advanced alien city that actually feels alien. The art is gorgeous as well. 10 out of 10, would highly advise.
