Jan. 22nd, 2008 07:19 amThere comes a time in every Mad Biologist's career when he or she says, "My God, what have I done?" I have to wonder if the same goes for parents. I had my moment last night...Katie has gone Mothra crazy.
To date she:
Wanted to play Mothra in the bath.
Wants to decorate her room in a Mothra motif
Plans on playing Mothra at school today
Wants me to make her a Mothra Cheerleader costume
Speaking of, I have to ask my f-list...when did fashion become a big thing for you? Katie is already obsessed with it to the point that she plays fashion with her toys and if one toy isn't fashionable enough he/she can't play with the others. I don't get it. Maybe Mothra will flush this from her system.
Also, if you were a kindergartner, how would you handle someone being a verbal bully? There is this kid at her school who keeps calling her "baby" and telling her she does her school work wrong.
I suggested the "talk to the hand" strategy as a start and suggested for her to tell suggest it to anyone else he does this too. I also warned her it could be hard to do, maybe even a little scary, and he will probibly ignore it at first, but to stick with it and it will work.
Thoughts?
