Today is a running day and I tried to get up early to do it and just couldn't find the motivation. Yes, I'm still stiff and a little sore from Monday but it's not that bad. Need to make sure to run tonight so I get in the habit! It is only half an hour so it shouldn't be too hard...even if I do it after the girls have gone to bed. Running at night is just as safe as running in the wee hours of the morning before the sun is up right?

I've been having too much fun with Mash-ups again, especially ones featuring Rammstein, Lady Gaga or Metallica. I have to wonder though why they call is VS in the title? For instance Lady Gaga vs Metallica. Why not something like Lady Gaga with Metallica? I mean the whole point is to mesh the songs together, it's not a battle.

The two books I am currently reading I am enjoying immensely. What's amusing is both feature protagonists who see dead people. The first is The Devil You Know by Mike Carey which is an urban fantasy written in a true film noir style. The author flawlessly, effortlessly and wittily throws out similes and snappy one liners that are glorious. And if you happen to do audiobooks, this one is narrated by Michael Kramer who is a phenomenal voice actor.

The second I am reading at home and is Terry Pratchett's Johnny and the Dead. As one of Sir Pratchett's books for kids, I am previewing it before giving it to my daughter and it is a great book so far. It's not a Discworld book and is the second in the series but I've yet to come across anything that suggests I am missing out by not reading the first book. It's almost reading as a coming of age story...sort of like Stand By Me but with a graveyard instead of train tracks...maybe? I don't know but it is a good read and I plan on reading the whole series.

And lastly, in the off chance you read my post from yesterday, I realized I do have a lot of canon material to work with before 616 Ben has to deal with the current War of the Four Cities story arc that has been going on forever. I've got the Death of Johnny Storm, the stories over in Spider-man, and the two story arcs in New Avengers.

Okay now back to work so I can clear my inbox a bit.

One last thing...so Marvel has made an audiobook of the new Daredevil comic, complete with panel descriptions. All so those who are visually impaired might enjoy the adventures of a super hero who is visually impaired. How cool is that?

One of my favorite music blogs is Bynar's Indie Disco which features new music, retrospectives to older music and wicked mash-ups.

Case in Point, his Wings of Riot which features Smashing Pumpkins and Designer Drugs. Brilliant beats and wicked melodies combined with Billy Corgan's voice. Have a listen.
