Yesterday we same The Hundred-Foot Journey , which was very good! Great cinematography, beautiful scenery of Southern France, and a fun story. Only quibble I would have is that I wish that Marguerite had been given more of her own story. I have ideas for how they could have done this without changing the narrative but I don't want to do spoilers.

One thing I really enjoyed was that there was no cultural assimilation in order for peace to happen between the two conflicts on the story. Though, I could be wrong in this seeing as how I am white and looking at cultural appropriation from the outside.

I know there were other things I had wanted to mention in this post but I can't think of what they were.

I really wish folks would stop interrupting me so I could maybe get work done? Like I'm supposed to?

In other news, I remembered one of the things I wanted to mention this morning and that was the murder of crows that hangs around my office. On the occasions when I miss making breakfast at home and hit up the drive-through, I've gotten in the habit of saving the deeply-fried potato-thing to breakup and leave for the crows. I usually don't seem them in the morning when I do this but I always whistle Twisted Nerve as a why of drawing attention to the food. I really should start bring them better food.

Last week I had occasion to be talking a cell call in the middle of the morning and since it was personal, I walked out to my car for privacy. For the first few minutes of the call, two crows kept staring at me and cawing; before finally giving up, since I obviously wasn't going to give them food. =)

The more fanciful side of myself keeps wanting the food to be an offering of some sort but the two gods I most associate with crows and ravens are the Morrigan and Odin; not two divinities I really want taking a close look at my life. So I've taken to thinking of de Lint's crow girls and smiling at the thought.

On my way out the door but just remembered another thing I had meant to mention this morning...

ETA: Looks like there is a character maximum for cut text.

Behind a cut as it could be a spoiler if you haven't read An Artificial Night, book 03 of the October Daye series.
