Fandom is fun and an energetic, passionate thing. Sometimes though, I have to raise my eyebrow.
Tessa Thompson mentions that Valkyrie is bi on Twitter and the internet loses it's head. I've seen articles toting this as Marvel's first openly bi character! Ummm, as much as I love this perception of the character, what the actor says isn't always what's in the movie/show. Also, she was alluding to the comic book character in the tweet, though she did later say she played the character that way, but nothing in the script calls this out.
And the other, and being vague here as spoilers for The Gifted, shipping characters I get, and I'm kind of frustrated with the bait the trailers gave us, but it is problematic as all hell to be so into the ship you ignore that the scene and character's feelings are due to one mutant putting what amounts to a roofie on the others. What it is is creepy as fuck. (Note, neither love interest in the ship did the roofie. A third party did it to save one of the love interests who they loved as well.)
