Jan. 6th, 2020 11:29 amWell, I am back at work after end of the year vacation burn and sickness. Still kind of sick but managing well enough at work to be productive and not falling over. I don't mean that to sound as dramatic as it might. :D
I've been collecting enamel pins for a new bag of mine and I think it might be time for me to stop getting pins for a while. (Click on the image if you want to see this larger.)
I do still need a Sabine and a Spider-woman. Sabine has a bunch but Jess has few I've found. Every search keeps getting Earth-65 Gwen Stacy...no shade meant for Gwen here, I just want Jess.
While sick I watched the first two of the SW prequel trilogy. I didn't find them as horrible as a lot of people say, and I never did really, but I think they do have problems with pacing. They seemed to drag, though that could have been my cold. I do have to say I am so glad for the Clone Wars TV show giving us a more rounded Anakin, cause the one in the movies is yikes. Or so I found. I felt young adult Anakin was nothing but red flags, and this is nothing about Hayden's acting. I think he did a good job. It's just I don't see a lot of Anakin's personality that Padme would have found attractive. But then I'm not attracted to guys. *Shrug*
I swear I've been sitting on things to talk about but am failing to remember them now.
Oh, I've watched the first 5 or 6 episodes of teh Watchmen series, and I love it. I'd almost say it's better than the source material. It does have a lot of heavy racist subject matter, in case that's a thing you avoid, but I feel it deals with it fairly. I could be very wrong with this,
I never got around to The Witcher, though it's on my radar. Also tried to continue season 03 of Runaways, but I seem reluctant to watch. The episodes I've viewed have been good. I wonder if I'm holding off the end?
Final season of Magicians is on 9 days!
I started Force Collector, which I am liking so far. The tone is very much not anything of Star Wars I've read before, kind of Ferris Bueller mixed with an Afterschool special, and there's Mirialan that's a school rebel/bad girl. It starts in what feels like a HS, but I'm only an hour or so into the book. I am sure it will go other places.
OK, I've rambled enough for now. I need to see if I can find a head voice to play with.
