Sweaping at the waves
Jun. 25th, 2020 05:25 pmThe past few days have been nothing but hot projects at work that just kept coming back after I thought they were done. Most often not due to anything I did, but it still felt like "Why can't I get this project right?" you know? Anyway, I think in realizing that I am better able to handle them frustration of these jobs. I think we're getting them sorted but we'll see.
So Hi, folks. Long time since I've written anything. Not sure I have much else to say. I am getting consistent exercise to the tune of walking at least 3 miles a day. This is good as I am feeling healthier and tomorrow I have a blood pressure check up with my doc. How did the time pass so quickly between my visits? :o
Reading wise, I am near to finishing London Falling and I highly recommend it. A good urban fantasy set in modern London. Next I've diving back into the Sarah Beauhall series, which I loved but had thought was canceled when the author and the series was let go by the publisher. Turns out he found another published and there are now two more books I haven't read of my fav sword lesbian dealing with myth right out of the Ring of the Nibelungen with modern twists. I'm going to have to read the last two books with my own eyes though as there are not audiobooks. Woe.
Word of warning if that description above intrigues you, the first book is a white male author writing a lesbian who isn't quite out and who has a life crisis. She makes some bad decisions which might have been handled better by the author. The books get better and as I understand it he did reach out to women and saphics for beta readers.
And well sonofabitch, in finding links for this I just read the news the author died last year.
