Et tu ego?
Jul. 31st, 2002 04:45 pmWhy do I get myself into these things?
Circle tonight adn what do i suggest as a neat idea? Making invocations in languages that are appropriate for the deity or languages the person likes...Yes tongiht is multi-lingual night...why does that sound dirty?
Anyway, I am casting circle and summoning Mannannan...So what have I set myself up for? Two very easy languages! Manx and Russian....Can I shoot myself now? It will be easy I thought, I can find translation dictionaries online! Yah I found them and the words, but they do little for pronuciation or grammer. Fheeh. I think I have it right, the pronuciation I mean. Grammer has gone out the window.
The Russian:
Kroog Vo-kroog, Kroog Mega, Och-rana Vchoo-trch, Och-rana Snar-oogee
(Well thats the phonetics I have been able to figure out. I can't paste the russian as LJ doesn't support teh characters.)
And the Manx (For those not in the know, Manx is the form of gaelic they speak on the Isle of Man):
Mannannan, Arreyder thie tashtee, Cluigeyr creenaght, dy ve ny mast'ain
(Which I think translates as: Mannannan, Areder thie tash-tee, Klui-ger Kreenacht da ve na mast' eten)
Mannannan, bannaght lhiat, gura mie eu
(Which I think translates as: Mannannan, ban-akht l'yatt, gurr-a my yeu)
I love this I really dooo........
