Question for the military aware

So say one were to attend West Point Academy...what branch of the military would you be in and what rank? Is it an officer's academy? I've power skimmed the wikipedia article but it doesn't say what branch which makes me think it's for all four?

This may have something to do with a new pup.

West Point produces officers for the United States Army- you graduate as a second lieutenant. The Naval Academy in Annapolis produces naval officers and Marines, and the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs produces officers for the Air Force. Not sure where the Coast Guard academy is but it's out there somewhere.

I do my best. Also, it helps that I used to want to go to the Air Force Academy (back before the poor sad recruiter got a look at my eyeglasses) and that I live close enough to West Point to pass it on the way to my company's disaster recovery remote site.

My father actually used to repair the elevators at the Air Force academy back in the early 1980s and I was aiming for the Navy before my hearing kept me out.

Sounds like a plan. I'll just spin it that Kate hasn't seen Renee in a long time and isn't sure what she's been up to. Even if canon disagrees with us, I plan on the stuff that happened to them still having happened just cause it was good writing dang it!
