A good week in comics?

bjornwildeDamn straight.
First up Fantastic Four #608 in which Reed and his father jump forward to the future. They do jumps of a thousand years, each time finding Ben and Franklin until the final two jumps where Ben is alone and the final wherein Ben finally dies (in 6012!) and Franklin returns to send him off. Very touching story, especially the last page with Ben and Reed sharing beers while watching a boxing match (personally I think it was a UFC match but I'll pay it safe). I love that this showed how much Reed values Ben but Ben with a beard is weird.
Next we have Batwoman #08 and boy are things going sour. Her deal withthe Devil D.E.O. is starting to bite her in the back as she's pushed to tap her girl friend, Maggie Sawyer, for information and even ruin a prison transfer Maggie is managing. And if that weren't enough, during the kidnapping of the prisoner for D.E.O., Batwoman accidentally stabs Sawyer with a needle containing a tranquilizer that causes hours of nightmares. Fun times. But she does get cool toys; bullet proof costume, taser gauntlets, a hoovering drone that has electrical, sonic and incendiary attacks.
And lastly, Alabaster: Wolves #01. Fun urban myth, monster hunter comic. Main character has an angel (and we're talking Old Testament angel) that tells her what to do and who to kill. Apparently the character is from some books and the author always liked the character but never the books she was in. In the books she just did what the angel told her too, in the comic things aren't going to be so black and white.
D'oh! I forgot the Courtney Crumin new ongoing series! Great art and a great story though it felt a bit rushed to me. I'll give my final word next issue when we see if this one was setting the tone of the first arc or was setting up a future antagonist. If you loved Changeling the Dreaming, that old neighborhood haunted house or urban fantasy with snarky kid who don't put up with BS, read this series.
