bjornwildeTeam Sad. It had just been more of Spider-Man’s flippant, immature gibes but it still stung. Does that man ever take anything serious, Jess though as she crouched 40 stories up on the GE Building over looking Central Park and eating her hotdog. And what does he know? Guy probably has had a pretty boring life. Doubt he’s ever had to overcome brainwashing or deal with parents experimenting on him.
Jess sighed and chewed. Why was she letting this bug her? She was a hero not some young kid who worried about what everyone thought of her. She’d been a private eye, a spy for HYDRA and SHIELD, a bounty hunter for SWORD and now…now what was she? An Avenger. That’s what she was and no matter what had happened in her past, that what she was today. Team Sad? Team Awesome more like.
It’d been months since anyone crossed the street or pulled their kid away from her. Weeks since the blowhard radio personalities called for her “skrull head” on a platter. Might the whole skrull thing being actually blowing over?
Maybe it was time to think about her public image. She could hire a PR firm or maybe even think about reopening a PI firm. She could get a new costume like Carol. Maybe not totally new, an update.
