 Finally saw Iron Man 3....
It was a good movie but I wasn't wowed, not sure why. Effects were phenomenal and the story was pretty good. I liked the spin on the Mandarin but feel a little let down after the slow build up from the first movie and the Ten Rings terrorist organization.

Other points:
The Extremis is so awesome it can regrow hair and clothes when exposed to fire! Still it can't seem to so anything about facial scars, despite regrowing a lost limb.

Pepper being bad ass was nice and I loved her dazed, "That was violent".

Tony has changed a lot. He is no longer the 12 year with all the toys, which is cool and nice. He's still trying his one liners though.

I feel like the skeleton of the story was the same or similar to IM2, i.e. Stark is scared of something bigger than him. He handled it much better in this movie though.

Speaking of, was it just me or did Tony not have one drink except for the flash back?

Loved Rhodey kicking ass.

 The post-credits bit was cute.

What was the point of destroying all the armors at the end? As gestures go, this seemed lame to me.

The little boy should have been asian and named Amadeus Cho.

I'm glad they finally did surgery for the shrapnel as with modern medicine such an operation is definitely possible.

I think that's it.

OMG, AMADEUS! WHY DID THIS NOT ACTUALLY HAPPEN? FAIL, WRITERS.

I agree with pretty much every single line you just typed, to varying degrees of "LOL IKR?" The more I ponder, the more I think I really liked the movie despite its flaws, but I need to see it again. And the shrapnel surgery bothered me coming right on the heels of IM2 where the reactor was, you know, actually killing him and he didn't think to have it removed? But almost losing Pepper suddenly means surgery is viable? idk, there were just so many plot holes. So. so. many.

Unrelated, I've been meaning to tell you that I've seen some Defiance. I was utterly surprised and DELIGHTED to see Rockne S. O'Bannon is on the project, so that will make it much easier for me to keep watching -- I am all for supporting him, if he is a regular on the crew. The show does have a Farscape feel to it. I'm halfway through episode 3, and I'm digging it so far.
