Long weekend was fun
Jun. 3rd, 2013 08:45 amBut the theme seemed to be time out in the sun.
Friday I was out at a pool end of the year pool party for the various 5th graders of my daughter's school. Very little shade. I had a goofy hat thought.
Saturday I tried to go to a beginning yoga class at the swim and racket club we joined last month but the class was canceled. Ended up swimming and playing with Her Ladyship instead which was fun but out in the sun with no shade. Not goofy hat.
Sunday The Wife went swimming at the San Francisco Aquatic Park in preparation for the Mermaid Mini Triathlon next weekend and yet again there was no shade. Had the goofy hat though.
What was missing from the above paragraphs aside from shade? Sunscreen! I am quite burnt as a result but I did manage to stay hydrated so no sunstroke.
And silly me forgot the awesome lunch in SF's Hayes Valley we had on Sunday. We started with French macaroons. I had two; one coffee and one dark chocolate flavored, though I had hoped to try an Earl Grey one. Then we hit a cafe across the way and had nummy French Onion soup which wasn't too salty or cheesy and had a hint of balsamic vinger to it, and a turkey and cranberry sandwich. All in all it made me nostalgic for when I lived in the Lower Haight.
