bjornwilde I have next week off! While I must entertain Her Ladyship and we do have plans to get out of the house, at least Monday I am flying free cause she has a pre-planned field trip thing. Which means I might actually thread or something and be able to focus on them!
I am 99% sure in the coming Apps that I will be applying Yang. Big surprise I know. Main reason is that she is so indomitably happy and adventurous, enough so that she cheers me up. I've tried bringing in pups just like this, Beast Boy for example but angst always seemed to lurk. The young Quinlan that is haunting my brainmeats sort of counts but he has this whole "I touched my parents death" thing that just looms. Yang doesn't have this.
Her canon is short though, despite the 11 episodes currently aired, but with each episode being under ten minutes at the most, that barely equates to two hours. My plan is to bring her in younger than her canon age, like 15 instead of the 17 she is. She will be less experienced and won't have the Ember Celica (the shotgun gauntlets), at least not right away. I want to play with her history, though somethings I will have to be vague on so I don't counter future canon.
I see her as growing up without her mother and the Ember Celica used to belong to her. She spends her childhood working to fit into those gauntlets, working out and growing strong. She'll be coming in while at the secondary school (which just trains warriors not hunters) and I also have plans for her to be part of a motorcycle gang.
In other news, I am also seriously considering Brimstone from The Daughter of Smoke and Bone as I've wanted an alien pup for a while. I think he can be a great plot device for other pups, as they quest for teeth to buy wishes. I am also curious to see him interacting with the angels we have in bar as well as the devil we have. I also need to read the second book to determine if I am going AU with him as I didn't like how things ended with him in the first book.
