Things finally just hit a climax! This books pacing really reminds of the Blair Witch Project...seemingly meanders around with little hint of a payoff and then bam.

I don't know, the pacing never bothered me but I think part of the issue is how the book is reflecting books of the time. It all builds up to the end but its a slow build and that slowness makes the end hit that much harder. I'm really glad you're liking it.

It is a good story and I am glad I read it. I am curious about the TV series under development as well now.

I don't understand the hate I've seen the book get. While the pace could have been better for me, I can see how it is still a great book.

I don't either but I think part of its charm and also what doesn't work for everyone is how it truly is written as a book of the older era. That can be off putting to some people.
