Understudy thoughts
Jan. 22nd, 2014 01:32 pm Since I seem to have a few voices hanging around, I feel it's time to give each a really good look. Something beyond, "Oh, NEAT!
From Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes:
Hank Pym - I love this take on him and I love his powers, always have. I also love the almost artistic and adventurous approach to science and gadgets he has. I'm still finding myself trying to justify his actions or coming up with acceptable reasons for the things he's done; things beyond canon. It is beginning to feel like I am warping the character to something I can accept rather than just accepting the character, flaws and all, so I think I will not be pursuing the pup.
Scott Lang - Now here is a pup with very similar power set and view of science and gadgets. I immediately connect to his being a father and doing anything, even poor life choices, for his daughter. Only thing is I'm more tempted to go with the Marvel Comics continuity, especially from Future Foundation.
From Ex-Heroes:
George Bailey - Still very tempting and on the short list. I'm not 100% sure about how Milliways can work within the canon though. I mean, how do I keep George from raiding the Bar for supplies or bringing Milliways folks over without disrupting the canon balance?
From Johannes Cabal:
Johannes Cabal - I love this book series, it's like what Douglas Adams might have written had he read too much Lovecraft. I have struggled with how to properly play Johannes but I've recently realized he not a villain who accidentally does good things, he's a cold hearted antihero who, despite himself, does good things. He doesn't try to do evil or good, he just goes about his business.
I think that's it, though Dorian (Almost Human) and Nolan (Defiance) are still haunting me.
