I am home today, taking care of Her Ladyship as she is sick. I had all these grand plans for OOMs (A peak into Quinlan's family, getting back to Andrea's canon, and starting Jess's stories from Avengers Assemble) as well as EPing Hank to get the ball rolling for the IMDB flu. Then I went and got lunch (Subway sandwiches + Jamba Juice) but now I am all blah and don't feel like writing. Maybe I'll give lunch some time to digest and see if I feel better.

A funny thing happened when I picked up my daughter's homework from school. As I walked up to the building, I noticed there were several news vans. I walk by undisturbed but notice the satellite dish is up on one of them and people are inside seeming to be preparing for a report. In the Admissions Office, I ask what is up and the receptionist says she doesn't know.

On my way out to my car, a woman from one of the vans stops me and asks a few questions while revealing that a teacher who ran an after school program was arrested for selling drugs. She asks if she could film me for a brief interview but I decline as I could tell from the way her off-the-record questions were aimed, the piece would end up being edited as "parent outraged at school". And while, yes I am outraged, it is at this idiot and not the school. They did their background check and the guy has since been fired, as the reporter told me, so the school did nothing wrong.

Looking online at home, it turns out the guy wasn't even a teacher, he just helped with the honors after school program. I am sure more information will come to light, the arrest was just last night, but I am thankful that I've learned enough about how media can be spun and edited to know my words will get altered to fit their story, not mine.
